I feel so dumb....salaried employment question:
« on: March 23, 2017, 11:32:19 AM »
I;m not sure what to put for this one:

Section 3, part 3A - only complete this part if your sponsor is working in UK

Income from salaried employment in UK - he only started this job his week,  on March 20, 2017 but it will give over the right amount of income per year  22000GBP - so I assume Category A because it states category A is to be used when sponsor is ALREADY working in UK which he now is?) BUT since he has only been working 4 days he also needs to rely on his prior 12 months of salaried employment which was NOT in UK but in USA but Part 3B states only to be used if sponsor is NOT resident in UK, which he is - so I am completely confused as to what to put?? ( or do we put yes to category B in part 3B even though he is now living in UK, and complete from section 3.31 onwards?? The form just doesn't seem to fit that scenario, but I:m sure its not an unusual one??

He does not qualify under Category A because he has not been at his current job for 6 months yet.

Instead he will need to apply under Category B and use his new job plus 12 months of income.

So, what he does is:
3.1 - No
3.2 - tick first box
3.3 - tick first box (Part 3A), tick category B

Complete 3.4-3.11 with his current employment details

3.12 - tick No
3.13 - tick No

Go to 3.20

3.20 - list total income in last 12 months
3.21 - tick Yes
3.22 - tick Yes

End of questions he needs to complete for finances

He only answers Part 3B If he is NOT in the UK yet but has a UK job offer... as he is already in the UK he applies as someone living in the UK (though his previous income can be from either inside the UK or outside).

Hi! So I realized I had saved this post for when I applied (which is now) and I actually posted the exact same question earlier today. I followed your step-by-step instructions.

It all works for me and my same situation as OP (He started U.K. Job last week 3rd of April) but the part that weirded me out just a bit here is that there is nowhere I am giving his prior position in the US (employer, position etc)--only thing is part 3.20 which is the $ amount. Is that ok?

At the top and bottom on the right hand side of the thread, next to the "reply" button, is one that says "notify". That's the one you want.  :)

Yes, that's fine.

You only need to give the details of your current/most recent job.

If that job is in the UK, then you only give the UK job details and then just provide payslips and bank statements from ALL jobs in the last 12 months.

If that job is in the US and you have a job offer in the UK that you haven't started yet, then you give your current US job details plus details of the UK job offer.

If you are in the US but not employed at the time of application, then you give details of your previous US job, plus the UK job offer.
