Fiance Visa Deadline Question

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I wanted to just ask to know for sure.

My fiance and I thought we had everything to submit, so we paid for the application, I went to the biometrics appt, but then we realized we didn't have everything. So it took a while for my fiance to mail original documents to me. Now we are past two weeks after the biometrics appt.

We were thinking about just trying to send it in anyway, but is it worth a try? Or are we just wasting our time and money?

Actually, the deadline is 5 DAYS from the biometrics appointment to get everything in the mail. It changed from 2 weeks to 5 days in September 2015. See: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/usa-apply-for-a-uk-visa/apply-for-a-uk-visa-in-the-usa#post-your-application

However, a couple of people have missed the deadline (one by over 1 month) and they just sent their documents in as soon as they could, and they didn't have any problems.

So, I would just go ahead and send it ASAP (as long as you know you definitely have everything).
