Moving house after arriving
« on: March 29, 2017, 12:59:36 PM »
Hi everyone.
I remember reading somewhere that it is important to keep the home office up to date on major changes in your life. My husband and I are in the process of buying a house and will hopefully be in before we apply for my visa extension - FLR(M). Do I have to inform Home Office of this before we submit our application - for example, if it happens within the next month and we aren't applying till July? Or can we just use the new address and its documentation on the application form? Thanks so much!

I believe you have to inform
Them within 3 months. All you have to do though is send in a form. Here is the link.

Yep, it's a weird form. Doesn't even mention you should use is it a FLR/Spousal visa person.

And for anyone who sees this because they hadn't informed them... you should be fine. As of April 2017 I didn't inform them I moved but I still got my 2nd FLR visa just fine.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Yep! Thank you! I got it last Tuesday, before Easter. I thought I'd posted about it. But maybe I didn't... haha.

Hey, I'm usually the last one to find out about anything!  ;)

Well done! ;D

I don't think I knew either! Just seen a more recent post I'm which you mention it. Great news!
Married 1966, left UK 1969, returned 1998, left again 2000, returned June 2014 (husband on spousal visa) granted FLR(M) November 30th 2016  and ILR on  24th May, 2019. Yeah!
