Edit: Ah. Someone contacted the NYC office about it. I bet that will work for awhile at least. ☺

Just for clarification, I could contact the NYC office to possibly change my application to priority though my application was sent to Sheffield?

Someone else did or was going to. I'm not sure if it worked or not, but it's worth trying.

I was going to contact, but I'm in a bit of a situation at the moment. I think someone else mentioned that they would too so they might post their results.

I personally have no clue. You would have to read the previous posts and make a decision for yourself.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

My fiance told me he did not call the NY office, but just the international enquiry line!

They should be able to help you.

Are you saying the pay for help line actually did something useful?

Yes, it was helpful. We called twice too. Because we read on the VSP page that we could not get priority after sending off our paperwork after we spoke to them and purchased it.. we were nervous we wasted our money. But they assured us we did not... and sent us the PDF and the email address of where we were supposed to send our proof of priority purchase. And we got an email confirmation back from Sheffield that they placed our application in the priority queue.

I will say.. PAY FOR PRIORITY FROM THE ONSET AND SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND STRESS WE WENT THROUGH. Like... it  took 2 weeks to get the confirmation.. it was NOT cost effective.

Guess there's a first time for everything :P.

That helpline is known for giving incorrect/bad advice - but if Sheffield have acknowledged your priority upgrade, then I guess they actually got something right for a change :).

Today is the end of 3 weeks that my application has been sitting in Sheffield.  Slowly but surely, the time is passing.

Btw you may have said it already, but did you pay for priority again?

Yes, we paid for priority.  I am starting to feel like I'll get an answer soon.  Soon-ish.

Here's hoping. :)

We're at one week since Sheffield received ours, but only 5 days since they acknowledged it. I don't deal too well with uncertainty, so I've got the last week of May in my head. I'm not allowing myself to get anxious until then. :D
