Ha! I suspected Harris when you mentioned Melbourne. I am hoping to go back to work after a bit of time settling in. :) In your experience do you think American companies are more likely to hire Americans than British companies?

My fellow April waiting room friends--have a good weekend. Next week will hopefully give us some good results. :)

I've only worked for US companies doing business outside the US but that was my niche that got me here.

Your first job could be difficult to land, depending on your field and how you can leverage your US experience as beneficial.  Mostly people want employees with UK experience.

I did Skype interviews with two companies and got offer d both positions! No one seemed to care I was American after I said I didn't need them to sponsor me!

What kind of work do you do and where are you going to be cause my company is actually hiring!

Wow!!! Congrats! I have a marketing and international business degree but I have never gotten to use them...did insurance for 11 years...I'm hoping to see if I can get into something new. Message me if you hear of anything, although I am not seriously looking for a bit! I'll be looking in Glasgow after a few months of getting kids settled into school etc :)

Thanks!!

I'm hopeful applications from our range will hear this week -- seems they've been a bit backed up, so perhaps there will be a rush of decisions going out! Might as well plan on that until proven otherwise. **crossing fingers**

It is what I'm doing ... booked time off work "just in case" for the week after  .. we are lucky enough soon as the visa is in his hand he can move .. but this wait is horrible and the longer it takes the easier it is to think it might be a refusal...so fingers crossed we hear sooner rather than later

Yeah, tell me about it. I'm in the same boat -- gonna buy the next available ticket once I get this thing back.

I was supposed to go to a lovely big wedding on Loch Lomond yesterday with my husband but was stuck here instead. I really wish we had applied earlier -- I had no idea that applications would start taking so long so early in the year.  >:(

This year is a new ballgame.  If you had applied the same time last year it would have been back in a couple of weeks.   :-\\\\

I went ahead and looked at March priority applicants on our forum, to see if there's a noticeable difference in processing times:

MARCH

1. RParkes, applied 1? March, decision 28 March -- 19 business days
2. Katoo, applied 1 March, decision 29 March -- 20 business days
3. FormerlyFromNYCACT, applied 2 March, decision 23 March -- 15 business days
4. Guy P, applied 2 March, decision 28 March -- 18 business days
5. ashlynnray28, applied 3 March, decision 27 March -- 16 business days
6. steviereed, applied 3 March, decision 27 March -- 16 business days
7. Victoria_S, applied 8 March, decision 28 March -- 14 business days
8. shorock, applied 8 March, decision 19 April -- 28 business days
9. Yeomissyeo, applied 15 March, decision 13 April -- 21 business days
10. eball31, applied 16 March, decision 18 April -- 21 business days
11. JoeFromNJ, applied 18 March, decision 18 April -- 20 business days
12. kristineh, applied 19? March, decision 11 April -- 17 business days
13. alexgirl82, applied 20 March, decision 18 April -- 19 business days
14. BeeCee, applied 23 March, decision 25 April -- 21 business days
15. leen89, applied 23 March, decision 20 April -- 17 business days
16. TechGuytoUK, applied 29 March, decision 3 May -- 22 business days
17. hchillin, applied 30 March, decision 2 May -- 20 business days
18. tfuuk, applied 30 March, decision 11 May -- 27 business days

average business days: 19.5

As you can see, it's pretty variable with certain applicants, and some people who applied after others got decisions faster. Right now, we are about 5 business days over this average -- if we get some more decisions this week, it should help give an idea. It's interesting that some applicants are up to 5 business days faster in the same time period.

Awesome! Thanks for doing that nonmerci!   :)

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the UKVI office just to see exactly how things work there!   ;D  I think it probably depends on the individual ECO as much as anything.

Are the lists uve compiled for priority and non priority, straight forward and complex all bundled together? Really caught right now between staying calm and going round the twist .. ours is a straight forward application .. no refusals.. no criminal convictions ... is it really going to be another 2 week wait? Anyone got w crystal ball for us still waiting lol

The lists I have seen that nonmerci put together are fantastic compilations of the priority timelines.

I've compiled a nonpriority one for myself with the non-priority Feb/March/April dates, and it's not nearly as thrilling. XD
2017: Survived a rejected FLR(M) & the wait for Non-Priority Spousal Visa (✿◠‿◠)
2020: ( •̀ᄇ• ́)ﻭ✧ FLR(M) approved
2022: ୧ʕ•̀ᴥ•́ʔ୨ ILR done
2024: (°◡°♡) Citizenship process begun
