I will admit that there are cheese scones that I forgot about.  Sometimes I buy them by mistake and curse myself.

Doh!  Schooled by Lyonaria.  Did you just pass your life in the UK test or something?

Guinness/ Bass, Devon   /Cornwall, butter/ clotted cream, you guys are splitting hairs

Nope.  :P
I worked at a company that rented self-catering cabins in the woods, and their restaurant/store/check-in area for each location has a cream tea. I needed to make a leaflet/poster for them to use to help sell it. And I had no idea what clotted cream was and what the heck people were talking about with the two different ways to put cream and jam on your scones. It's a big deal. Haha.

And I did some research on Molson-Coors (who owns Bass) when I applied for jobs with them.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Just don't ask me who puts the cream on first. I have absolutely no idea anymore. It's been about 18 months since I last looked. Haha.

I'm pretty picky about my scones and even I don't really care if we don't have clotted cream,  it's so close to butter you can hardly tell.  Even thick double cream will work

Way up north?
What are you talking about, jimbocz? I live in the East Midlands. Haha. It's not even 140 miles from London.

*grins* only in Europe is 140 miles a long way. I drove 90-120 on the regular to go places at the weekend in Colorado. 😆

Thank you, I am. Heart rate is still down and probably my blood pressure, but I think we're stuck waiting for the drugs I haven't taken since Wednesday night to wear off.

Jimbo, what are you North London-types eating these days....cereal cafe....ramen....pork buns? With your derby boots and old push bikes...listening to your LPs....
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Guilty as charged!

The food truck near my house had a home made English Muffin for £7

A few years back somebody told my daughter that not drinking milk would cure her eczema.  Every time we went to Starbucks she wanted me to order her a soy milk Babycinno.

Once we were making a picnic with some sushi and my boy had a temper tantrum because we hadn't brought Wasabi.

By the way, the cereal bar guys opened a shop in the mall, now nobody would be caught dead in the cereal bar.  Sellouts!

Hi Vickie...welcome!
I think what Jimbo meant to say was that Lyonaria and Albatross are both sound, and they don't spraff on about things they have little knowledge of!  ;D ;)

Marmite!? Both Australia and UK seem to enjoy the salty black paste. I have had some and did not find it particularly appealing. I enjoy black and white pudding though, could eat it daily. I purchase it from a British Grocer in Anaheim, CA (near Disneyland) along with pasties and wrapped sausages. Nomz
