The difference between doing it now and doing it in 2014 is that back in 2014 you were allowed to do it and there were clear instructions on the VFS Global website for how to do it. Also, UKVI were pretty good at acknowledging the upgrade.

However, this has now stopped and the VFS Global website now states that it is not possible to purchase priority processing after the application has been mailed... so people trying it now are taking the risk that it won't be honoured at all and that they are wasting their money completely.

Didnt know that. Thats a bit unfair. They were really crap last time finding out if it had been upgraded or not.

Hopefully you will be fine.  Do you have a backup plan just in case?  Can your husband come to the US around your due date?  I'm a believer that if you have a plan B you won't need it!

Yes, thankfully i'm still working so my healthcare is covered if I have to stay stateside for the birth.  Hubby would fly back for 3 weeks, and I would rent an apartment short term 6 month lease.  My mom would fly to where i am for a few weeks also.  Then start the whole application process again.

As you said, hopefully won't come to that, but it helps to have a plan B.

Not sure why my data was erased but I'll update when processed. Good
Luck to all

Hi Cate, I took you out because this is the Priority log and forum - your application is non-priority - comparing your application with Priority may mislead you and others.  There is another non-priority timeline that would be more useful for you.

Yep - several people have had this happen. Sometimes the decision email gets missed and the visa just shows up on your doorstep.
