Successful FLR(M) In-Person Appointment
« on: May 10, 2017, 08:15:05 PM »
Whelp, looks like England is stuck with me for another 30 months.  Had my in-person appointment today and my visa was approved.  I read an entire novel during the four hour wait, can recommend 'The Couple Next Door' by Shari Lapena if anyone is looking for a good thriller to read.

Thank you to ksand and lyonaria for their guidance in preparing for the appointment and good luck to anyone preparing their own application.  So glad to have that behind me.

Congrats! It's nice to have it all handled isn't it?
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Congratulations! We will be applying for FLR(M) in the next few weeks as my partner arrived on a 6 month marriage visa and we have just got hitched!

Would you mind posting a list of all of the items you submitted at your appointment so I can refer to it? Or would anybody be kind enough to point me in the direction of a list of documents that ended up being successful?

Thank you everyone in advance :)

Good luck and congratulations on the wedding!  Your application might be slightly different as my FLR(M) was from a spousal visa rather than from a fiancée visa.  I have been here since 2014 so had enough time to collect six pieces of mail, that sort of thing.

This is what I included.  We applied in category A.  Obviously you will need to adjust this based on your personal circumstances.

Application information
- FLR(M) application form
-IHS payment confirmation
*in-person appointment checklist
*in-person fee payment confirmation

Applicant information
- My current and previous passports
- 2x passport photos with full name on back
*BRP (I don't have one but I am assuming you will)

Sponsor information
- Sponsor's passport (if you apply by mail then you will need to send a copy of every single page of the passport including blank ones)
-1x passport photo with full name on back

Relationship information
- Our marriage certificate
- Six pieces of correspondence for the following periods:
     *Nov 14-Mar 15:  Council Tax, 23 Feb 2015
     *Apr 15- Aug 15:  Letting Agent's letter, 14 Jul 2015
*Sep 15- Jan 16: Anglian Water letter, 16 Oct 2015
*Feb 16- Jun 16:  Anglian Water letter, 1 Mar 2016
*Jul 16- Nov 16:  British Gas bill, 28 Sep 2016
*Dec 16- Apr 17:  Bank of Scotland contents insurance letter, 9 Feb 2017
**You won't have two years worth so just supply what you can

Financial information:
- My husband's job contract in the UK
- Letter from husband's employer in the UK
- Last 6 months of his UK bank statements (Nov 2016- Apr 2017)- I actually threw in a 7th statement to ensure a full six months because the oldest date on the 6th one was 24 November
- 6 months worth of his pay slips (Nov 2016- Apr 2017)
- Husband's P60

Accommodation information:
- Lease agreement in both our names
*if you own your own house then it's Land Registry and mortgage document

I also included photocopies of everything.  The only thing they kept in addition to the application form was the employer letter.  Have a look through the form as it is pretty good about listing what you will need.  Feel free to post your own list when you have decided what to include so people can suggest anything else.

The only difference will be the amount of mail they can provide, since they won't have been living together for 2 years yet.

Other than that, the application documents are the same regardless of whether you are switching from a fiancé visa, spousal visa, work visa or student visa.

Hi there

Just getting on with compiling my documents ready for submission. The house I live in is owned by my grandmother. It is a new house and I have correspondence, it has been valued by the Valuations Agency but I've yet to receive the Council Tax band it is under. In our previous application for my husband for his fiancé visa, to prove she owns the house, we included a solicitor's letter. The house has not yet been finalised with Land Registry and has no mortgage on it. I have a letter from her saying we can stay in the house, and she is enclosing a solicitor's letter which states she is the legal owner of the property. Do you think this will suffice again? Or do I need a Land Registry document?

Thanks in advance :)

If there is no land registry document yet, then the solicitor's letter is the way to go, along with the letter from gran.

Hi there

We are wanting to go for priority service. Is it fine to apply online or can I only do the paper form and apply for a premium service centre appointment and then take all the documentation with me?

Thanks again in advance, sorry for bothering everyone!

No bother, that's why we're here!  :)

You'll do the latter, make a premium appointment and take all your evidence and the completed application form with you.
