Hi everyone! Happy to hear some decision emails are coming through!! I've been silently tracking everyone.
So I'm a US citizen applying from Canada so it's slightly different for me, but I thought I would let you know about my experience this morning. I went through everything they gave me when I got my biometrics done and the paper said that non-priority settlement applications were processed in 10 weeks. I figured this was just an old piece of paper, but I was really curious if it could help push my case a bit faster so I decided to pay and phone UKVI. The woman on the line was not helpful in the least (as everyone has already said). She basically told me that I was making up this piece of paper which was really rude and I was just trying to let her know that perhaps they were giving out wrong information (while still also hoping it would in some way help me). Anyways, that didn't go down well at all, but what she did say is that the 12 week waiting period starts from the date your biometrics are taken, not from the date that your application documents are received at Sheffield. Perhaps this is unique to Canada or you all already are counting this way, but I was counting starting from my docs received email so this made me happy as it is a less maximum wait time. So she told me to call back two weeks from tomorrow if I hadn't heard anything and they would flag it as that would be 12 weeks from my biometrics.
Anyways, I'm just at the bursting point of waiting and it was good to feel like I did something haha (even if it was overall pointless).
