RichC that's awesome! Congrats!

We are also settling in Edinburgh once my visa gets approved. My partner already headed over last Jan 24th because he started his new job. So just me and our 2yo son waiting here in the US now.

Masonjohnsmum, you and I are really close in our timelines. I never got an email that my paperwork was received either and all I know is that my paperwork arrived on December 1st. I'm hoping that we both hear before the end of the month.

Received “Not straightforward” email today! It’s great to hear from UKV even if it’s not a decision because we never received an email from Sheffield they’ve received our document packet. At least we know we’re in the pile being reviewed.  :D

Well, I'm happy that you've heard something but I'm annoyed that I have yet to hear a single word from them.

It’s been 59 BD since I completed the online application so that’s probably why I got the email. Since they’re meant to give you some kind of response within 60 BD. I was late in mailing my docs to Sheffield because I needed my passport to travel right after my biometrics appointment.

Any day now bisousdarling.

Ah, true, I didn't think about it from time of application. I assume that I'll probably be getting the email next week or so.

This isn't really the right thread for this, but does anyone know if I can apply for the ToR before I hear back about the visa? Or is it dumb to apply since I don't know what the decision will be? I ask not because I'm concerned about my belongings that I'm shipping since that will take 5-7 weeks to arrive, but because I am also moving my dog and he's technically a "designer" breed (got him at a shelter with no ideas on his breed other than "he's a small dog"). I've heard that they've started charging duties on dogs and that a ToR needs to be done for them... just to further complicate moving, of course.

TOR is pretty fast by email. You're gonna need a few days to organise all the paperwork for your dog to be able to fly anyways, so I'd just apply for it as soon as you have the visa. If for any reason you're denied the TOR is good for 12 months but its a one time thing and you never know how slow processing in the summer might be :(
