Your online application has been received in Sheffield, UK.  Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.

Can anyone tell me what this means?  My partner just received this email today.  Does this mean it's getting done now?

Weird - that's usually the confirmation email you get when your package first arrives in Sheffield... it just means they have received it and it's been put in the queue for processing.-

It does account for holidays, you can see them on the right in blue, so my spreadsheet is fully accurate :)

Yes I was looking at that. Wanted to get a general idea. Not that it matters because I'm the last one on there. But still good to know :)

That is odd seeing as they confirmed receipt of it on the 30th March this year.  I'm just lost with it all right now and feeling pretty hopeless.

Mm that looks almost verbatim like the confirmation of documents received email that I got from Sheffield. Weird that you'd get it now after that long of a wait.

Maybe they fired that one off to you again by mistake, instead of the decision made one?

Hope so!  :)

Not that it helps much but I broke down and paid to send a status update email, within 3 hours I receive a response that offered nothing but "awaiting a decision."  This is progress from last month when they informed me that an agent had yet to be assigned to my application.  I'd send them an update requests if you think they sent the Sheffield e-mail again by mistake.

Hi Everyone,

I've been an quiet observer for awhile, but finally decided to post. My situation is a bit unique as I am currently living in Vancouver, Canada as a permanent resident with my british/canadian husband. So this will be my second time immigrating to a new country...fun :P The process is a bit different up here, but the timelines seem to be about the same from the website. Here are my stats:

Application submitted: May 15
Biometrics: May 19
Docs received in Sheffield: May 24
Email confirmation of docs: May 24
waiting on decision email

I have a question. I have plans to visit my family in the States at the beginning of August, but if my visa isn't processed before then I won't have my passport back. Any thoughts on how I can get back into the US without a passport as an American citizen?

Hey Everyone I just wanted to put it up here incase it helps someone in the future, but I called the US Consulate and they said that I could cross the land border without my passport. I would need to bring other evidence (ie. birth certificate) of my US citizenship and a document showing the Brits have my passport. They told me that the border guards would give me a hard time, but would eventually let me through. I know this is a very unique issue, but wanted to put up my answer just incase.

I actually PM'd Candice, and she heard back last Monday. I had wondered the same thing.
