NO DECISION LETTER WITH MY VISA?!?!?!?
« on: May 16, 2017, 01:36:26 PM »
Hiya.

So, as mentioned I received my passport with the entry clearance/visa stamp inside,
which I thought signified my leave to enter. It was accompanied by my voluminous collection of documents. However, inside there appears to be NO DECISION LETTER!!  What happened? Is my visa officially granted? Do I need to contact anyone? Is this a mistake, and do I need to re-apply? Can I enter without the decision letter?

Please let me know ASAP,

Rachel

:o How annoying! At least you've got the visa -- hopefully someone chimes in soon with official advice.

Don't panic! You do have your visa. If you didn't, you would not have the entry clearance vignette in your passport.

The letter does contain instructions on picking up your BRP from the Post Office though and I think you need the letter to do so.

Try emailing the visasheffield address to see if they can send it on. And have another search, just to make sure it's not there somewhere.

What Visasheffield email address should I use? Do they respond to emails? In what timeframe?

Can I enter with just the entry clearance vignette/stamp?

Thanks,

Rachel

Fiancé visas do not have letters.  It's just the sticker valid for six months.

Just be sure to apply for FLR(M) before the expiration date and you are good.

Thanks KFdancer, I forgot this was not a spouse visa!

Congrats on getting the visa.

Yeah, you only get a letter when your visa is valid for more than 6 months - because the letter tells you where and when to pick up the BRP card.

Before BRPs were introduced in 2015, you only got a letter if the visa had been refused.

I had the same thing when I got mine two years ago. Didn't see a letter on top so I just went for the passport right away and nearly collapsed in tears of relief when I saw the visa sticker. Thankfully my husband was there with me visiting for Christmas. My mum actually picked him up from the airport while I was at work and he was there in my living room holding the UPS package when I got home. We both had a good cry when we saw it. I'm so happy for you that it was a successful application!
