I've had a name for the last 36 years.   ;)  Husband has no names.  We had a BIG argument about it Sunday night.  My dad arrived Monday monrning.  Husband is back at work.  Three year old couldn't sleep Monday, so husband went in to lay with her and fell asleep himself, Tuesday I went to bed straight away, last night husband fell asleep on the sofa early.  So we literally haven't caught up all week.  This is why you are supposed to decide while pregnant!   ;)  Three weeks old today...  three more weeks until we have to have something.  <sigh>

Wow, you have broken my friend's record of two weeks without agreeing on a name.

What about Sirius? :D :D :D

Call her Visa. So that way, we can make those four letters adorable and put a positive spin on it!

Eh, I wouldn't be so confident of that.  For example, the IHS fee was introduced after I was on my path and I wasn't grandfathered in.  Same with fee increases, etc.  People who have ILR are still affected by continuous changes (BRP to prove right to work for example) and not based on the rules in place when ILR was granted.

While I would encourage no one to panic, also know that we are completely at the mercy of the rules and attempting to live in a very anti-immigration country.  It's certainly not going to be an easy ride to remain in the UK.

For future applications, absolutely. I didn't pay the Health Surcharge for my first visa but just did for my FLR(M). What I meant was that any changes won't affect applications currently being processed. I took AV's comment as worry that they would have to meet any rule changes that occured after their application had been sent to Sheffield but before the visa was actually issued.

Good luck thinking of a name! We've got a few Baby Names books here at the library if you get really stuck. Give him a big cuddle and perhaps inspiration will dawn.

I know, right?!?   ;D

He claims to have names... he just hasn't shared any of them with me.

I want Frazer, which is my maiden name.  Or the "F" in KFdancer.

Oh yes!  No, a change would not be retroactive to current applications!

First reaction was "It's too Scottish".  ::)  Umm, okay...

Now it's just that he doesn't LOVE it.  By he doesn't have any name he loves....  boy names are hard though.  Girl names are much easier!  Ben, are you having a boy or girl?

I agree to not panicking but I must admit to being very nervous, I currently meet the finanical requirement for teh fiance visa, but I dont like that in 6 months for teh spouse visa or even in 2 yrs when we are ready to apply for FLR I might not :( where does that leave us then?

I'm having a girl (due three weeks today actually) and I 100% agree that girls names are significantly easier! When we were talking about names (before we knew the gender) we always ended up naturally on girls names as the creativity seems to be there with girls names and everything is cute with them.

We shall be naming her Lily [smiley=daisy.gif]

Jack was our chosen boys name before knowing the gender  :)

That's an interesting name.  I'd be worried he'll have to spell it his entire life.  Don't get me wrong, I like it overall.

What do you think about the importance of other people with the same name?  Like all I can think about is the TV character, but if it's your kid that association will stop soon enough.  When I was naming my kids, I turned down some names that were fine just because I knew someone once with that name who had some negative quality.  Maybe that was a mistake.
