Shipping application and organizing email receipts
« on: May 23, 2017, 11:43:47 PM »
Hi All,

Thank a lot to everyone. I submitted my application online and will go to biometric tomorrow and then mail everything out. I just had a few questions regarding the mailing:

1) after applying I got the following emails:
- Your Immigration Health Surcharge Payment
- IHS###: your immigration health surcharge reference number
- Visa4UK - Confirmation Of Your Visa Application Payment
- Visa Application Confirmation Email for G######.
- Priority Service receipt
- Visa Application Payment reference number from the UKVI website.
- return label

I am thinking of printing all of these receipts and also include an envelope for the return package.

Please advise all this is required.

2) our package is slightly over weight. It's 5.4 lb. can someone please advise if that's an issue?

3) I am sending in 2 uk passport size photos with the application, can someone please advise if I should write my name and the unique reference number at the back with a pencil or a pen or if I need to sign it.

Your help will really be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nazzy

For coming back, it shouldn't be an issue as UKVI will keep your printed out application, biometric confirmation sheet, etc.

However, going to the UK it will be an issue. 5 pounds is the max. Can you print anything out 2 sided (including the printed online application form) and/or with lighter weight paper? Is there anything you can take out?

Thank you AV. The only thing that I haven't done double sided is the online application. Can I do it double sided? I was told by someone that since it's the main application form, you should do it single sided.

Thanks,
Nazzy

Hm! I don't remember seeing any information about that. It's possible? For what it's worth, I did print my application single sided (only because I didn't even think of double sided printing to save on weight). Maybe someone else here can chime in? I don't recall seeing any instructions forbidding double sided printing, but I don't know.

You will absolutely want to print your priority receipt and put it slap bang on the very top of everything you send.  You also want to write 'Priority Processing' (or whatever line advised on the website) across the front of the package.

The IHS receipt was necessary for FLR(M) so I would imagine you would need to include it.  They will at least need the number to prove that you paid.

Can you post a list of what you are including?  Your package should really only be a couple of pounds at the most.

What are A3 and A4?  Do you have 6 months of payslips?

You can take out the MIL's passport copy and property inspection report (not required).  How big is the copy of the deeds?  If multiple pages, it may be easier to download the land registry document online for £3.

How many photos are you including?  Only 2 max should be included.  All the rest of your relationship evidence/communication should only be about 8/10 pages at the absolute max.

Hopefully removing some of those items will get you below the 5 pound requirement.  I'd also remove the return envelope to reduce weight.

Remember, you just have to tick the box.  You don't get bigger or better ticks for loads of info.  They will literally say "have they met in person?"  Here's a photo - yes.  "Do they communicate regularly?"  Here's a few pages of call logs - yes.  A few boardings passes from visits to one another and you are done!  Don't over complicate it.   :)

A.2 Employment Verification
A.3 Income Verification

What do you mean by employment verification and income verification?

The documents you MUST send are:
- 6 months of original payslips
- 6 months of original bank statements
- letter from the employer stating ALL of the following:
(i) the person's employment and gross annual salary;
(ii) the length of their employment;
(iii) the period over which they have been or were paid the level of salary relied upon in the application; and
(iv) the type of employment (permanent, fixed-term contract or agency).

Optional but recommended:
- original job contract
- latest P60 (if he has it yet)

A.4 Visa letter from Bank

What's this?

B. Accommodation
B.3 passport copy of mother in law
B.4 independent property inspection report

You do not need these, so take them out.

C. Evidence Of Relationship
C.2 tickets, pictures, entry and exit stamp for various visits
C.3 Gift Receipts

You don't need these, so take them out.

You just need to send boarding passes (or e-tickets if you don't have the boarding pass anymore) from your trips, and no more than 2 photos of just you and your sponsor.

C.4 recent FaceTime video call screenshots showing duration, date and time. (Feb 2017 till present)

C.8 Facebook posts (from July 2015 to present)

How much of these do you have?

You shouldn't send more than 2 sheets of paper for each.

D. English language requirement
D.1 copy of Applicants current US passport

You don't need this because they already have your actual passport as proof.

Also sending one envelope with the return label pasted on it.
Please advise if this is okay?

You don't need to include an envelope.

However you DO need to include a photocopy of every original document you would like to be returned to you.
