If you've only got one burner you can bring pasta to the boil and then remove it from the heat. Provided you've got a lid it will continue cooking, unlike rice. Takes a bit longer though.

Hi, DL2000,  :)  since we're in a chatty thread and with apologies to jimbocz, would you like to share a little bit about yourself?

It's unusual that someone spends their first few posts answering questions rather than asking them!  :)

If they don't already have battery operated kettles for these situations (or when you want to make tea in the wilderness), they should!

Hey, don't hijack my thread!  You know I never do that to anyone else

Just kidding, hijack away.  I've already got more recipes than I am likely to use.

Oh man, that's some pressure.
Just because I asked for recipes doesn't mean I'm going to turn this into a gourmet occasion.  I just want to kick back with a beer, not make a Spanish omelette.

However since you guys are so easily entertained, here's some pics of my camp site in Georgia

The air mattress leaked and I never actually sat on the chair.

lmao it's easy to be easily entertained when your work day is slow and the weather outside is GORGEOUS. I think when I get home, I'll kick back and read outside while enjoying a beer myself :)

Hey, Larabee,

I'm AV's English wife. I think she usually does enough talking for both of us ;-)

We met online and she would probably tell you that I stalked her before we started chatting properly.

So anyway, I'm currently trying to distract myself from waiting for our visa to be approved. It was received by Sheffield on 26th April

Ahhh, that's great! Thank you for breaking cover!  ;D

I'm sure we all feel that we know you already!  ;)   Welcome!  ;D
