Thanks for all the tips. I've made sure my phones are unlocked now and that they'll work with the carriers. Much appreciated.

How do you get your phones unlocked?  We have AT&T and I don't think we still have a contract - at least we've had them for more than 2 years.

It's pretty simple. You have to make request to do so through the ATT website. Here's the link. Just follow the instructions. I hope this helps:
