I completely agree. I saw that it was on but refused to watch it. Couldn't believe that anyone would try to mess with it.

Explain please?  They both look equally bizarre to me.  I'm guessing the old one is up top?

Jimbo, you can't be serious?!?  If you haven't watched the original Dirty Dancing, please watch it immediately!  Do NOT watch the remake.

I feel like this could have been good if it was cast better.  I love Abigail Breslin but she is not right for this role.

I'm definitely not watching it - I've heard nothing but bad things.

However, have you seen the Keith and Paddy Picture Show version of Dirty Dancing (they had John Barrowman in it)? It's pretty funny - they actually did it really well, even though it was two guys playing the leads :P.

The top one is an iconic movie scene (that's Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey)... the bottom one is a bad imitation of that iconic scene.

Seriously, Jimbo, you cannot participate in the discussion any further until you have watched the original.  ;)

EDIT: to confirm my sarcastic tone.

I'll check it out!

Sadly the bottom imagine was the final cut in the remake!   :o

Uh oh, I think I accidentally kicked a hornet's nest of Patrick Swayze lovers.

The original has always been on my list, Im trying to get the daughter to watch it for her education but she's having none of it.

That lake is in North Carolina I think.  Near Silly Badger

That's ok though because it's an homage to the original!  ;D

I'm more of a Dirty Dancing lover than a Patrick Swayze lover :P. It's one of my favourite films - I've seen it so many times, I can probably recite all of the dialogue along with the characters :P.
