I'm pretty neutral RE dirty dancing (I'll watch it but it's not one of my go-tos or anything).

That being said, when did they decide to make a remake?!?! Was it a "made for TV" one?? Or is it actually out in cinemas?!
My, how time flies....

* Married in the US and applied for first spousal visa August 2013
* Moved to the UK on said visa October 2013

It's on Channel 5 (aired on ABC in the US).  You have been warned if you decide to watch!   ;)

I watched it against my better judgement, and couldn't turn it off. I was so annoyed. Racist undertones, Vivian is divorced, a watch is stolen not a wallet, Lisa sings well, baby's mother asking for a divorce.

I couldn't take Lisa seriously- kept asking myself why was Hayley in dirty dancing.

If that was Abigail singing, she was really good, but it sounded like either baby or Johnny was dubbed. It didn't sound like they were recorded at the same time

And I HATED how they ruined the fantasy about what happened next. In my eyes, baby and johnny are still together.....stupid movie....

Was this one of those "live" movies like they did with grease or hairspray or something?

It's terrible that Shia was the only youngish actor I could think of....hell he's probably 40 now.

LOL nah he only looks that way since he had a bit of a mental breakdown or whatever. He's only in his 30's I think. Early 30's even. He's not much older than me I don't think.

I have never seen "Dirty Dancing", the original. I don't know why I never watched it (I was 17 when it came out) especially since I'm partial to watching Patrick Swayze since he was a Texas native. Anyways, after reading all this discussion, I thought I would watch the remake since I have nothing to compare it to and be objective.

It was shite!

So, continue your bashing! Lol
