Anyone been to Centre Parks?
« on: June 13, 2017, 11:01:35 AM »

We've just booked 4 days at the Centre Parks in Port Zealand, Netherlands.  Has anyone been to Centre Parks?  how was it?

Since it's in the Netherlands, I'm hoping for nekkid people and dope smoking but I seriously doubt my dreams will come true.  I think it will probably be more about arguing with kids about wi fi.

I haven't but lots of friends have (in the UK).  I've only heard positive things.

We did Eurocamp at Lake Garda last summer and loved it!

I bet that was nice.  How was the food?  Italian?

We were self-catering and an allergy family so we did lots of BBQ (had a grill).  Though Italy is great for gluten free and dairy free.  Most gelato is made with coconut milk and not cows milk which was a fun discovery.

Great pools and other activities though.  I think you'll have a blast!

Thanks, I hope it works out Okay with the cranky teenager.  She's got bad eczema and doesn't always want to swim

I have heard that it is a requirement that male guests wear speedo-type swimwear at the pool.

Will you comfortable with this?
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

I kid you not, I went to a French swimming pool where the life guard kicked me out for wearing a normal swim suit and I couldn't come back in until I went and bought  a pair of budgie smugglers.  I showed her the net and the drawstring, this was a normal swimsuit but she was having none of it.

I've seen worse than Hairy Euro dudes in speedos

Yes, I was in it.  I can't remember exactly how I showed the net bit but by this part of the conversation my wife had come over to translate. She was baffled as well but confirmed I couldn't come back until I had bought speedos.

Me neither!

I went to Bath Spa the weekend before my husband and i's first date.  Every single man there (it seemed) had on speedos.  I seriously asked my husband on the first date if he wore them, he said never, therefore there was a second date.   ;)

Anyone watch Gordon Ramsey's Hotel Hell?  He LOVES to bust out his speedo!

This is hilarious!

Also, if you want a dog friendly self catering cabin holiday look at Forest Holidays.

I used to work for them and they are awesome! My dogs had an amazing time and you can get a cabin with your own hot tub.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Yeah, but since it's just on the telly, you can gawp all you want.  When it's real life right in front of you, you don't know where to put your eyes!
