Over 30C here in London and tomorrow says 33C!!!!!

It's too hot for me, but perfect for laundry day. I'm about to hang up my fifth load today and considering doing a sixth. Get your bedding and towels washed now if you can, folks!

ETA: BBC says 32C today and 34C tomorrow in London!!!! :o

Haha yes the plus side is that laundry dries VERY quickly!!

PB and Albatross, I was in Scotland last year for the "summer" (I believe it was 2 days last year).  I was grateful to be north of the border as it was still hot.

I feel like I'm sitting on the surface of the sun if I go outside.  Me and baby are closed in the lounge, haven't opened the drapes today, with a fan on us.

Ksand, will the heatwave truly break on Thursday?  I wanna open my doors and windows again!

My limit has always been 24c.  I might be from Florida but I much prefer a cooler climate (looking at you, Colorado).

I'm not at work until Thursday but I had a look this morning and it seems it will :P.

At the moment we have high pressure over us, bringing warm air up from Spain and France... which is why it's so hot.

Further north though, a cold front is moving down from Scotland and is stalling over the middle of the UK... which is why it's much cooler up there today than in the south.

By Thursday though, the high pressure is expected to break down and allow more fronts to move in from the west off the Atlantic... which will bring cooler air and the heatwave will break.

So, assuming that's still on track to happen, we'll get cooler temperatures from Thursday.

Alas, I have no outside space in which to hang said laundry.  Ultimate heatwave fail.

Heatwave hits, and you guys decide to do laundry?

Haha. Must have been from the Eastern slope? Western Slope hits 105 every June/July on Grand Junction.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Exactly! You wash all the things that take ages to dry. Haha.

I know it got hot there.  But as my office, home, car, and dance studio were air conditioned, it didn't bother me!

I was in Castle Rock (south Denver) and I LOVED it there!!

Definitely!

Sometimes I hang out with the laundry in the garden a bit (I tell DH I'm babysitting the laundry - turning them, flipping them over and shaking them as they're hanging because it seems like it should help, but I know it probably doesn't). The damp clothes make it a tiny bit cooler in the garden.

Today I got a load of normal clothes, a load of trousers, two new cushion covers, a flat sheet, a duvet cover and two pillowcases. Five loads. Thought about a sixth load of bath towels, but decided to save that fun for later. ;)

I also baked bread today. It's sourdough, so it took a few days to get it ready, but this isn't the first time my bake day has ended up on one of the hottest days. Luckily, it's only about half an hour of oven time, but kneading in the heat is not ideal.

I'd love to see you say this to an American who hasn't lived in the UK. The look on their face would be priceless. ;D

Laundry? Kitchen? Makes no sense.... until you've lived here. ;D

It is to hot! Last summer I NEVER got any tan so I chose not to wear sunscreen Saturday at the beach. I know poor decision all around. Definitely got sunburnt on my arms.
