For some strange reason we've got A/C in our office, which is not really needed except for the fact that all the men engineers all get "too hot", {sigh, come on, it's 17ºC outside, not 30ºC like down south} and I've been absolutely freezing this week.

Our office has this as well but I am beyond okay with it as it's a nice break in the weekday. I would've HATED working form home this week but it was definitely hotter than 17 LOL

I think even if I suggested getting an AC unit here my husband wouldn't go for it.  The energy costs would be really high, I think.  He's a bit of a nut over conserving energy.

I have to wear a suit to work and I thought I was going to die last night.  My work is in this enormous glass building with NO AC in my section so it's basically a greenhouse.  My wardrobe was ready for the non heatwave temperate weather, but I'm thinking I might have to go into Primark and look for a couple of cheap sleeveless blouses that I can sweat through and not care about for tomorrow.

It is, we were almost crying in the office!  Luckily the part where the public is, does have AC, but I can't just hang out there!  We had someone complain it was too cold there and I almost laughed in their face.  Oops.

This is pretty much my workplace, except from the 60s so the windows barely open. The computer area has a few fans but it's stifling in there. That is the public area, the staff area has no ventilation so it's unbearable. Usually over 80 in the main library area and in the 90s in the back. We have fans but they barely do anything. We have had to hussle a few elderly people outside because it was just too hot for them.

Otherwise I am loving the weather!

at a softplay place (torture chamber for adults).

I think I would almost rather be hot.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Been lovely in Glasgow for the last week. Cool and rainy for the last few days.  ;D  But I saw a lot of people leaving the Botanic Gardens in the late afternoon last week that were vaguely purple everwhere that wasn't clothed (ouch, that's gonna hurt!).  :o

We have Roku still set up to our "American" channels and watch the news from there. It was 126F (52+C) out in the desert yesterday.... I do ~NOT~ miss SoCal. It rained so freakishly much last winter, and now it's hot and dry. The place is going to be on fire in the not too distant future. Ewww, do not miss that at all. (Still PTSD from the 2003/2007 wildfires in San Diego.) Much better to be here, figuring out how to get mildew out of the grout in the bathroom. (Bleach, I think.)

Better check that the mildew in your bathroom is not listed as a protected historical object before removing it.  My old flat had huge black stains of mold that the landlord told me couldn't be removed.  "It's always been there."

Dettol Mold & Mildew Remover.  Should do the trick.

I'll have to try this. I've been using bleach and letting it soak for thirty mins before I scrub really good. There's always just the tiniest bit I can't get and we even took upon ourselves to have the tub resealed.

Hahaha, culturally .... as long as it's not moving under it's own power, it's getting nuked. If it starts moving, I'm calling the press and charging admission. Then I'm going to buy a place in the country.

They put Pergo in here, everywhere but the bath and kitchen. It looks lovely, but they didn't bother to tidy up well afterwards and I'm still sweeping/wiping brown dust off of everything. The grout in the bath is, I think, supposed to be dark - but it's not that general brown dust color. It's definitely black over by the tub. As  it is much darker  I assume that is mildew and will try the Dettol, thanks! Whomever was in here last wasn't exactly Suzie Homemaker, and although I imagine they had a professional cleaner come in, I'm not impressed with their work, either. Kitchen has been a challenge - black tile floor that shows every speck and a vague grimey-ness on all the other surfaces. Ewwwww. Better now, but ewwwww.
