Some light relief - most of my work is term-time and i have no kids, so A LOT of time on my hands that I'd expected us to be spending as newly weds. Here's what I've been doing.
1. Building Ikea furniture and generally getting home ready for us.
2. Planting, weeding, finally getting grass seed to grow to repair small, bare lawn.
3. Trying to help my wife clear out her apartment at a distance. There have been copious lists.
4. Caught up with friends I haven't seen in a while. Gradually told everyone that no she's not here yet and we don't know when and cannot get any information.
5. Germinated seeds, tended seedling, planted out seedlings. Killed seedlings. Though the courgette (zucchini) seems to be surviving! I've had a Xmas tree germinating in fridge...
6. Planted more stuff. Created a pond in a washing up bowl and inherited a frog. Thought it must be a lucky frog/ sign..
7. Increasingly obsessively checked this forum. Restrained myself from replying to most posts cos I basically know nothing, though at least i know more now than a month ago. Calculated everything.
8. Did storytime at library about a million times.
9. Walked my dog about a million times.
10. Went to leisure centre to 'talk about' going to the gym, again!
11. Cooked healthy stuff, once or twice. Felt virtuous. Got fish n chips.
13. Ate a lot of chocolate and developed new obsession with ice cream
13. Tried to save the ocean by using less plastic
14. Signed daily petitions about everything
15.. Stared out of the window... a lot
16. Got out yoga mat - stretched for thirty seconds or so. Got distracted by nothing. Put away yoga mat. Checked forum again.
17. Lay awake A LOT. Checked forum cos makes me feel like I'm doing something.
18. Freed a dragonfly from my living room. Thought it must be lucky sign
19. Messaged my wife a few billion times, patiently waiting for her daytime to catch up with mine. Failed to put on a brave face a few billion times. Fortunately she's bit of a hero.
20. Mused over the giant double rainbow she saw yesterday. Thought it must be a lucky sign.

I too have been lovingly tending to grass seed!

Still can't get motivated to exercise post baby...   ::) I can't even get motivated to fold the laundry basket full of clean clothes sitting next to me...  I'm not even awaiting a visa.  Just bored out of my mind on maternity leave!

This is very funny.  I think humor (humour) is a lucky sign.

Wish I had time for such light things. It's been all work work work. So stressful trying to do this application along with everything else.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the break and that you're reunited soon. Fingers crossed UKVI get a move on!

Aww sorry. I've had times when I've been horribly overworked. Balance would be good - like in Goldilocks. Good luck to you too.

Wish I had a frog ...

Tried to work out how to attach pic of frog - failed. We named it grasshopper - cos on our three day honeymoon/ family visit (efficiency savings) , we heard frogs that I wouldn''t believe weren't grasshoppers until her sister later confirmed it, and i believed her!
