Will Decsion Vary by Assigned FCO?
« on: June 29, 2017, 12:05:13 AM »
Has anyone ever had a rejection for something they were too harsh on? Did anyone ever get approved with some documentation that wasn't sufficient/overlooked?

Before the long and bothersome Customer service from June 1, one rep/officer told me when i used to call-  saying the outcome depends who does my application, result can be very different from officer to officer!

I see our list of people receiving emails but I want to know your outcome! Do not need to be too detailed, since this is personal info :)  :o

I mean, we see some people get rejected for not properly ticking one of the boxes, like not fully providing enough proof of relationship even in cases where it should be obvious (like, a shared child, or 20 years of joint tax returns in the US).  And others sometimes get by with photocopies of documents that should have been original, but many don't.  So I guess it could depend on the person processing your application, but they're all following the same rules.  I guess it just depends to what degree they follow the rules.

No one is going to be rejecting applications willy nilly because they're in a bad mood or whatever, so I wouldn't worry too too much about this. :)

They will contact you if they need any more information.  18 business days is on the shorter end of processing times for priority spouse visas right now so don't be too disappointed if it's another couple weeks.

There is nothing else you can do now that they have it.  I know it's really stressful, but try to find something nice to do to distract yourself, because stressing about it won't impact the decision at this point! Plus you made it through applying (and paying for it) so you deserve a break.

Like MPI said, it's a tick box visa. If you tick all the boxes, you get the visa regardless of who processes it. Certain ECOs might ask for more documents whereas another may not, but they are all using the same guidelines.
