Would it be possible to make a children's play room out of a loft conversion, if you will own a home?  That's what I see a lot of people doing in listing on rightmove.  And location location location.

Bit late to this party...

But I'd say a huge difference is that we have a LOT fewer clothes here. A lot less stuff in general. My stepkids were raised here so they don't know American scale, but I struggle with not having built-in closets. They were sooooo forgiving for storing junk. :D Things like weekly grocery delivery means a lot less bulk buying, too. My wife and I have an ongoing "discussion" about just how many rolls of toilet paper are really necessary to keep on hand. (Hint: it's not 60!)

My sea shipment has just arrived so it's been a huge headache trying to figure out what to do with everything. I got rid of 90% of my belongings before moving over, but it still feels like too much stuff.
