It's generally thought they pick a few each month to do quickly to skew the results favourably.... shocking.  As far as doing them in order I am mystified.... How many applications that went in after me have been Decided!

Oh boy, you're right. That's really tough mbmoffat.  :-\\\\

Really hope you hear next week.  :)

Thanks / tell me about it!.    Just in case you are wondering if its a dodgy application; it's not - Our application is a model application and we used an OISC 3 specialist law firm's Managing Partner (one of the UK's leading Immigration and Human Rights lawyers).  The cash is there, I have a house in the UK and we have two kids, 10 year travel history together.  Every item is covered, mostly in several ways. It's a professionally prepared extremely meticulous application.

If you get refused on the 5 year route what happens? Is it automatic switch to 10 or is it a whole new app and he has to leave?

If you have a child, they usually qualify you under the 10 year path.  This thread is for priority spouse visas from outside the UK, so processing times won't be relevant unfortunately.

Thank you. Thats good to know they will qualify us under the ten year route. It would be an absolute nightmare if he just had to leave right now.

My wife got the email from Sheffield yesterday (July 7th). I would have updated this forum then, but I was flying to the UK to start my new job Monday. Ugh...jet lag.

I'm sorry, the jet lag is hampering my communication skills. The Sheffield email was just confirmation they received the documents.

Doesn't matter and sorry for bitter u I'm just wanted to know how business days u took to got ur decision

Hi Suzanne, I don't think they have their decision, only just the confirmation email from Sheffield. It's not the applicant who has just flown to UK, but their spouse. Not surprised you're confused. It is really hard to make sense of stuff with this ongoing, accumulative stress. My head is all over the place :(

Online visa app 24 April 2017 (Priority)

Confirmed receipt of docs 17th July
Return label requested and emailed 17th July

Trying to centralise posts on this timeline instead of the individual month ones so we don't have to check multiple timelines....

Updated 9th July.  Centralised rolling log.
Anyone new reading this please post your timeline. The more the merrier and the better the info for all. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

This was my email on Thursday reading this:

Did anyone have one similar and was approved?

Vvvvvvvvvvvvv

Subject : VAF xxxxx

Dear MY FULL name,

Regarding Visa Application:  GWFXXXXXXXXX
For: MY FULL NAME

A decision has been made on your UK Visa application.  Your application will be dispatched shortly from the Decision Making Centre in Sheffield, UK.  If anyone contacts you advising that your application is still under consideration or that they can influence the outcome of your application in any way, they cannot - please report any such approach to VisaSheffield@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

Applications submitted at a Visa Application Centre (VAC) will be returned there for you to collect in person unless you have opted for a courier return service.

You will receive a separate notification from the Visa Application Centre advising you that the decision has been received there and that your passport is ready for collection. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have received this notification.

If your visa has been issued after a successful appeal please go to the VAC 5 days after the receipt of this email to collect your passport.  The VAC will not contact you regarding this.

You should not expect to receive any further notification from this office unless you have made your application in the USA and submitted a pre-paid courier envelope for your documents to be returned directly to you.  If so you will also receive a further email with the courier tracking reference.

Kind regards,

Sheffield Visa Section
