I'm going to make this , maybe even tonight , but what's the deal with boiling chicken breasts?  I've never even considered boiling meat before.  Why? Do I have to?

The chicken is boiled as opposed to fried or baked so that it is very tender and moist. You can do so, but it doesn't spend much time in the sauce to moisten it. Please let me know what you think!

Did you know that your name on my phone screen always gets abbreviated to Rick Ste..., which always makes me think about Rick Stein, the famous chef.  Since you obviously know more than me about cooking, I feel concerned that I am going to change your recipe when I cook it tonight.  I couldn't find Romana cheese, so it's going to be Comte.  I'm using Turkey Breast instead cause it was on sale, and I'm going to throw in some lardons because everything goes better with bacon.  I'll let you know how it turns out.

Well, Morrisons is the only store in Inverness that stocks the Romano cheese and a recipe is merely a guideline on your journey.....so
Cook it you must, eat it you will!

So glad you like them! We're having them tomorrow ourselves. Need a rotisserie chicken, nice bread and while grain mustard. I forgot I used the last of it awhile ago. Haha.

The best thing is how easy they come together.

We over did it walking in the Peak district today... tired AND sore. Haha.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Who has an Instant Pot and what are you making in it?

Also, butter here has a higher fat content than US butter so if you find your baked goods aren't coming out right, you may need to reduce the amount of butter you use.

And thanks to you for the pasta recipe.  There were some political problems since the wife is dieting and I knew she was going to go nuts if she saw the recipe.  We worked through them and every bit was eaten!

That sounds great!  I don't have an oven (or toaster, even!), so the garlic bread is out.  But I could make a tomato sauce and cook up some pasta.... nice suggestion!

Hi Rick!

Pass on the details on the Sicilian spaghetti, please!

I once had a "pasta a la Norma" when I visited Taormina, Sicily back in 2002 and I've not gotten around to making it or any of the other foods I had there since. I'd love to know what you made.

One VERY old Sicilian style spaghetti recipe coming up!!! I have tried to simplify my uncle's family recipe for canned instead of all fresh ingredients.

1 pound of Italian sausage
1 pound of lean ground beef
1 large chopped onion
2 cloves minced garlic
4  8 oz cans of tomato sauce
1   6 oz can Italian tomato paste
1 cup water
1- 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp ground red pepper

Directions:

Cook sausage and ground beef in large skillet over medium heat, stir until meat crumbles. Add onion and garlic and sauté for 4 min or until meat is cooked. Drain and set aside in separate bowl.
Combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, salt, parsley and pepper in skillet, simmer on low heat for one hour stirring occasionally.
Add meat mixture and continue to simmer for at least two hours until mixture thickens.
Serve over cooked pasta and top with parmesan cheese.
