Hello lovely people!

Just thought I'd add my timeline on here, as I've just received my documents/passport back and I've been approved for another 30 months!!  :D
However, my BRP has not arrived yet, I assume it will come in the next few days or so.  I was surprised to find that they don't put another visa in your passport; I guess the BRP serves as your visa extension.

Here's my timeline:
Submitted application: 11 September
Received biometrics request letter: 21 September
Biometrics submitted: 27 September
Documents returned and visa granted: 27 October

Best of luck to anyone else going through at the moment!  Definitely a weight off! (at least for the next 30 months)  ;)

Yes, your BRP is your visa now and it'll arrive early next week!  Congratulations!  ;D

Congratulations :). Yeah, your BRP will arrive separately in the next few days.

FLR(M) hasn’t been issued as a sticker in your passport for several years now - it’s been issued as a BRP instead a:).

And as of May 2015 spousal visas are no longer issued as stickers in your passport either. Instead they are issued in 2 parts:
- a 30-day visa vignette in your passport, valid for your first entry to the UK
- a 33-month BRP which you pick up from a Post Office within 10 days of arriving.

It’s now only visas valid 6 months or less that are issued as a full visa sticker in the passport.

Hi all! visa is due to expire Dec 17th, so applying next week while I'm on annual leave for a week.

I just had a few questions:

are biometrics are done AFTER you submit the application?

Is everything still online as far as filling out and paying for the application as it was for the first Spouse visa?

Even though I work, would it be easier just to fill out the income requirement under my husband's income?

Also, does anyone have an  available checklist I can for a straightforward application?

Thanks so much!

If you apply by post, yes - you will receive a letter inviting you to give biometrics at a Post Office (£19.20) after you have applied.

There is an online application, but it’s new and full of bugs, so I would not recommend using it. Also, we can’t see it, so we can’t help you fill it out.

I would use the paper form instead and just send your payment details with the package:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-to-extend-stay-in-the-uk-as-a-partner-form-flrm

Yes, if your husband meets the requirement with only his income, just leave your income blank on the form and only include evidence for his income.

The documents checklist is on the paper application. The only thing it doesn’t cover in detail is the financial/accommodation documents, but those are the same as for your spousal visa anyway.

Alright, thanks so much. I'm going to study that form over and over lol. I know we meet the requirements and we probably have nothing to worry about, but this whole process is nerve wracking!

Hello,

Wanted to add my timeline to the mix! Thanks to this forum, I decided to go with the paper application vs the online one, and I was also inspired to include an easy-to-follow chart of my correspondence.

5 October -- Application sent
6 October -- Application received
10 October -- Payment deducted from my bank account
11 October -- My son's UK passport was returned
18 October -- Biometrics letter received (dated 16 October)
20 October -- Biometrics taken
21 November -- Online tracker changed to "Decided"
22 November -- Received passport; letter (dated 20 November) states that my visa has been granted and the BRP will be sent shortly

FYI - I just checked online and my visa status still says "awaiting a decision" and I've had my BRP for a month. So please keep reminding people that the online tracker is not the be all, end all for status!

Interesting.  I give in and check my naturalization application about twice a week.

Random one, do you mind PMing me your application number?  I'm tempted to see if all applications are issued sequentially (I'm guessing they are) or if there is a particular code in the front that identifies application type.

Can you tell I have too much time on my hands?

Just had to reschedule our in-person appointment from 11th Dec to 4th Jan (first available) as my elderly mother has just got an appointment for surgery on 11th Dec, she has waited ages for...

original visa is valid until 13th Jan 2018 so we are hoping there are no issues when we go on the 4th Jan 2018.  Does anyone one know what effect this will have on when we can apply for ILR?

It won't affect your dates for ILR at all.

Hello,

I adjust applying for my FLR(M). We married on 31 October. I am currently in London on a fiancé visa.

I have a question about the application, if anyone is able to help.

I am not sure about the section Convictions and other Penalties.

1. In the US i received Deferred Adjudication when I was 17 for shoplifting. I am currently 34. Does this count as a Spent or Unspent Conviction? Do I need to disclose this? I believe it is no longer on my record, but I am not sure as it was so long ago.

2. Disqualification for speeding. That means  speeding ticket, right? I can't remember when my last one was. I think mid to early 20s. Do I disclose that?

Thank you in advance.
Applied (Online application sent in): 1 May 17
Received: 30 May 17
Decision Email: 9 August 17

FLR(M) Application: 4 Dec 17
Biometrics: 11 Dec 17
