Has anyone done the calculation, it looks like it'll be close even with the pension?

Yeah, he's fine.

BTW i thought i had to wait till my i started receiving my pension as well. But the visa office was adamant that any income i would continue receiving while in the UK would count hence why we went ahead with the application and got the documents showing I would finish work this month but continue to get my full salary until Nov 20th. hence why I'm so pissed about the Visa Office thing, seems like i know more than they do and they charge 1700 quid

If you were receiving the pension income and it was continuing, it would have worked.  They just didn't listen with both ears.

Sorry, lots of people get sucked into bad lawyers thinking they know what they are doing.

I suggest that you refer them to this document and demand your money back.

I'm guessing I'm SOL on all the actual visa fees and stuff though?

Could this (any income counting advice) relate to the high court ruling which I believe relates to just that, broadening out what income counts where children are involved - and hence the on hold for that decision to be applied?

I'm pretty sure it is but that ruling was made in Feb so who knows how long it will take for them to come to a decision

Yeah, he's fine.

Yes and with plenty of leeway for exchange rates too, as far as I could see from calculating?

Really feel for you DustinDep. What on earth does being paused mean given what we know of UKVI and of legal processes? The ruling is supposed to protect the interests of children isn't it, not send families into indefinite limbo  ::)

Yes, sorry. The visa fees and the postage is gone but you will get a refund of your IHS fee.

And sounds like from advice here that you can reapply soon and meet original criteria, but seems hugely unfair that you should end up paying twice given your application is likely to be valid under current legislation. Ugh!

I wonder if I need to withdraw my application to reapply because it says it's on hold and I'm sure I can't have two applications at once.

This happened once before and people were kept waiting ages. And the rules didn't change. It'll be the same this time.

Since the Feb ruling? So basically it's having precious little impact for families  ::)

No, a couple of years ago. It's actually worse for them, or it was last time because they had to wait all that time not knowing, only to find that nothing had changed as the rules were upheld.
