Naturalisation application - P60s?!

Okay, I am a bit baffled. I'm FINALLY getting around to applying for naturalisation after being eligible for more than 7 years, oops. Anyhoo.

There's a really vaguely reference to needing to prove I've paid appropriate tax/NI for the past 10 years, which can be done via payslips, P60s, etc. Now what I cannot find is if this is "required" evidence to come to the NCS appointment. It's not on the checklist either at the end of Form AN nor the Guide. I have my latest self-assessment thing as I've actually been self-employed for the past 2 years. I don't know if I even *have* P60s or payslips from jobs 10 years ago.

Can anyone who's been to NCS appointment recently say if these were required?

The only thing I included were my employment letters from my most recent employer (original and subsequent from promotion).  They didn't need my previous employer.  If you're self-employed, you'll most likely need your tax returns.

Thanks! The NCS lady pretty much said the same. My appt is in a week, so fingers crossed it's generally fine. She mentioned the 10 year's history was more for EEA applicants.
