I was always up front last year about not having a visa(we had really wanted me to move there first buy a house and have a big wedding but alas NYC court house it was to be together) and I got two offers and the retractions over it. It's
Like people don't listen 😫

It's because it's a university that I hope they wouldn't interview if unwilling to sponsor.  They definitely know the ins and outs of sponsorship licenses.  Of course there could be a new hiring mangager who doesn't know what they are doing.

Fantastic!  Did they say they'll sponsor for the position?   ;D

They should do all the work!

Congratulations!

KFdancer is right --  they need to step up with sponsorship and ideally walk you through the visa process. You can't do it on your own!

I accepted the job at basically the end of day in the UK, as I have a 7 hour time difference.  I am hoping to get something from HR tonight/UK tomorrow.  I plan on talking to the consulate office in Denver, and I have been told by others they can help.  I am crossing my fingers they will sponsor, as that is the easiest option as I understand it.

Great news about the job :).

As I said on your other thread, I wouldn't bother talking to the Denver consulate, as they do not deal with visas and may not even know what you are talking about.

All the information about Tier 2 visa sponsorship is here:
https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general

And what the company has to do before you can apply for a visa is here:
https://www.gov.uk/uk-visa-sponsorship-employers

It is the company's responsibility to get the ball rolling now, so there is nothing you can do until the university issues you with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for the visa.

If they won't sponsor you/issue a CoS, then unfortunately you won't be able to take the job as you won't have a valid visa that allows work.

They sent me an email saying that they would get me a sponsorship certificate.  I'm guessing the woman who tried to cancel my interview was either operating under a miscommunication from the department, or she was taking too much upon herself..

Now for actually getting the visa and moving.

Hello all,

I just wanted to post here, that my move is complete, except for my stuff which may be a few more weeks in arriving.  I start my new job tomorrow, and I think I have most of the issues sorted out for now.  Thank you again for all your help.
