Buying a car - getting a small loan with no credit history
« on: July 28, 2017, 04:48:58 PM »
We are able to put 60% down ans only want to borrow around £3000 so qe can start a credit history in the UK but everyone we talk to says we need 3 years of proof of UK address which we dont have. Any way around the 3 year rule?

Based on everything i've read, you'll probably be better off getting a used car to start. They're affordable and readily available in pretty good condition. I'm used to living somewhere that they salt the roads so cars end up being rust buckets quickly and used cars are completely unreliable.

Who did you have your US bank accounts with? If they're an international bank sometimes you can get them to transfer your credit history with them.
