Good news!
« on: August 21, 2017, 12:11:00 PM »
I was offered a new role to start on the 2nd of October and I accepted. It's at a new company literally a 10 minute walk away from where i currently am. It's a side-step at present but will give me a muchhhh better career path with more room for progression! I'm slightly nervous though as I have it quite easy at the moment (verryyyy relaxed work environment and I can pretty much have my hair any colour I want!). It's also the first time in the nearly 4 years I've been here that I won't be working for the company I'm employed by now so a bit nervous because it's leaving the comfort zone that I've stayed in since November of 2013...It's the right time and the right choice...but it does make me a bit anxious!

Sharing here because I still can't share it anywhere else yet as it's not been formally announced at work and I have some colleagues on my FB.
My, how time flies....

Thanks guys! :) I know I'm very fortunate to be able to get a job in such a difficult time at the moment, especially one that is the right move for me at the right time, so I shouldn't let the nerves get to me! I'm definitely excited and thankful and hopefully I won't mess it up! :D

Congrats!! Change is never easy even when it's something you're looking forward to, but I'm glad it's a step with a lot more future possibilities!

I know that's how it should be, but the closer it gets to September, the more nervous I get because then I'm on the 30-day count-down! While I'm definitely happy to be getting out of here because of office politics happening at the moment (my manager is just not a very good manager for several reasons),  I'm starting to get more nervous about learning a new job. Some of the stuff I do now will help make it easier, but what if I'm rubbish at it and I've just given up my current security for something I'm not cut out for??? I'm moving to a Project Coordinator role and, in my current role, I basically work with PM's to make sure all their financials are correct and I raise their invoices etc. so I'm essentially working on the other side of the role I'm moving to, but what if I'm crap at dealing with the wider area of responsibilities??!

Thank you! Yes! Sooo many more possibilities! Like I actually can get promotions to new roles as opposed to "congrats, you're doing well...here's more projects/responsibilities with no pay rise or change in title!"

You coordinated your visa applications (a massive project) and got yourself over here.  If you can satisfy UKVI, you can satisfy anybody.  You got this!
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
