How Long out of country

I am here on 1st Residence visa, I can get cheap standby flights to US,  how long can I stay out of UK without harming visa?

As long as you aren't seen to be 'living' apart from your partner, there is not a strict rule. A month? Probably fine? Six months? Probably not fine...

Renew from within the UK.
