Hey everyone,

Figured I'd share a bit of info on how this turned out. We decided to be a bit more sensible and went for a visit over Christmas / the New Year and went for a trip that's just short of 3 months.

November 12th 2017 to Jan 28th 2018

We were super nervous about what would happen once she got to the border control so we got as much evidence as we could to support the trip - mainly docs showing I could cover the costs of the visit etc.

Thankfully everything went smoothly; she was just asked what she was here for and she said it's to spend time with her boyfriend and his family over the holiday season. He checked my 'sponsorship letter' and passport scan, looked at the return ticket and wished her a pleasant stay in the UK. Didn't even check any bank statements or wage slips.

It's going to break my heart when Jan 28th comes along and I have to watch her leave but grateful to have some time together over Christmas.

To anyone else dealing with all the Visa stuff I wish you luck.

Happy Holidays everyone!  :)
