New £10 Notes
« on: September 14, 2017, 11:22:54 AM »
I just spent half an hour waiting at the Bank of England to get a couple of the new £10 notes.  When I finally got inside, I found there was another hour long line!

I left without anything.  I'll try again tomorrow.

Very much like the fiver.  I can't compare the size because I changed all my fives into tens and don't have any left!

The 10 has a much bigger see through window.

A few ATMs already have the new £10 notes. I picked some up near Borough Market this afternoon. There's a list of ATMs with the new notes on the Guardian.

The new £10 note is slightly larger than the new £5 note.

The biggest difference I noticed besides colour and basic design was the £10 note has braille in the corner for people who are blind or partially sighted. They didn't put that feature on the £5 note.

Crikey. Can't wait to pick one up whenever and check it out. Guess the £20 will be next to change then.

I think the £20 note is slated for 2020. Plenty of time to get excited, forget about it and then be totally unimpressed once it's finally released. ::)

Did I mention that my kid found a £5 coin in the street?  We had to google it, but apparently it's real currency.

Cool!  Is it worth more than £5?

I seriously doubt it, it's not in very good shape.

I like Her Majesty on currency. Gives it gravitas. She has an army.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC
