I like Her Majesty on currency. Gives it gravitas. She has an army.

In addition to that...

I am so impressed at how quick a new currency note or coin rolls out here.  I haven't seen an old £5 and rarely see old £1 coins now.

You still see the odd £1 coin rolling around, as for old £5 notes, i've not seen any. I'm not fond of the new notes, they can easily slip out the pocket, if you have more than one note, they can at times feel like you have one note, so you need to be careful when paying for anything and making sure you ain't handing 2 notes over haha!
