Notary in the UK

We need to get a form notarized by my husband who is in the UK.  Does anyone know if this can be done?  Does it have to be a US notary.  It is a form to transfer 401k funds.  Thanks.

Get clarification on if it MUST be a US notary.  Did you appoint a POA in the US before moving?  If not, you will have to make a visit to the embassy or consulate and the notary services are quite steep.

If it just needs to be a notary, any UK solicitor should be able to do it!

Online notartization is now a thing. Several states allow it, and a document valid in one state has to be recognized by others.  MY wife and I have used successfully. Check out notarize, which seems cheapest, or notarycam.com which we used but they seem to have put up their prices for overseas users. Anyway, for us it was simple and easy

We had the same issue, we needed a spousal agreement form notarized to allow withdrawal of some 401k funds.  We used a local solicitor and it was accepted with no problems. We included a business card from the solicitor so the 401k company could contact them if they needed to check anything with them.
