Am I the only one who had to zoom in to see if she’s throwing a double bird?  With the kid in the stroller!

My husband did not approve.  TOO BAD!

I told him I'd play the dumb American saying it was peace signs if asked.   ;D

Harvey Smith was famous for that.  ;D "Doing a Harvey Smith" as it's often called.

He then wrote a book " V is for victory" ;D Brits call it a victory sign, if it is the other way around, not a peace sign..

The way you had it is definitely a double UFO. ;D Did you smile for all the cameras around there? :)

Looks like she’s throwing gang signs to the Croydon Crips.

He said he meant it to be a victory sign and not a V sign at Dougie Bunn (owner of Hickstead). Then in his book, he said he didn't ;D

At that time, the winnings was the richest showjumping prize in the world.

It made the dictionary -

The infamous gesture won him an entry in the Chambers dictionary which defined 'a Harvey Smith' as 'a V-sign with the palm inwards, signifying derision and contempt'.

There was another time when the riders were told they had to wear their coats, even though it was a boiling day. Harvey then rode in the ring barefoot. ;D

Congrats.

May I be an opportunist here and ask for your list of docs (or point me in the right direction)

And also any tips on how you prepared for the life in the U.K. Test. Do I just go through the multiple choice questions or do I actually need to read the theory.

Best

K

You should read the book first, there are dates and figures that you are just not going to know. Then take all the online tests you can find until you are easily passing each time.

Your documents for ILR are no different from FLR.  :)

I just assumed it was the bird.  And laughed very loudly!

Congratulations!  I immediately felt better after citizenship.  It was a huge relief.  You're nearly there!!

I'm so jealous! Paying for ILR is going to take all of my savings up to the date I book my appointment (or all of my savings up to the date I post my application if I miss the 2017/18 fee rate and have to pay the 2018/19 fee and do a more expensive postal application).  I won't be able to apply for citizenship for a few more months after ILR.  :/
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)
