Not THAT fast.  I applied the 25th of September.  So 10 weeks?  And it’s not over yet.  I’m looking at my chickens but not counting them yet.

I think it could take another two weeks to get the letter.  And who knows how long it’ll take to do a ceremony.

I thought it would be upwards of 6 months, worse than ILR by mail. Guess not!  ;D

True!  But I've been following the timelines on immigration boards and there is NO rhyme or reason to how long it takes.  Some October applications have already had ceremonies and passports.  Others from May are still waiting.  zero consistency.  Hopefully I am on the short side and I'm not just another UKVI screw up!

A few years ago, a colleague of mine (on the same immigration path as me and also American) applied for UK citizenship. Six months later, I applied. We were approved within a week of each other.  ::)

It occurs to me.... do we want a naturalization timeline spreadsheet?  This might be more useful than the ILR one.  All of us 5-year people will be coming up on eligibility for both now.  And the AN application does't have the in-person option.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)
