I'm baffled now.  Good Omens?  I didn't see any of the earlier Thor movies or if I did I fell asleep.

You should know that I thought about you during my Raclette meal as we were served an entire plate of pickles.

If I remember, you guys were doing tourism in Aberdeen.  Was it good?  What did you guys see?
I picked them up in Inverness  (met Rick Stephens at the car park where he works, to say hello) then we caught the train to Edinburgh for 3 days. We stayed a night in Dundee, Aberdeen and then they headed back to Inverness.

We found an awesome pub in Aberdeen, way out of the way, since our hotel was 15 minutes out of the city centre by taxi. (Website said 3 minutes by taxi. Liars!!) We had a fantastic time there as we walked in on a hen party in full swing. They don't see very many Americans in that part of Aberdeen so we were a bit of a novelty.

Hey Scottish people, look at the menu at our company canteen today :

It was really good, especially the haggis.

Why did I think a stovie was a sandwich?  I swear Phatbeetle told me that.  It was more like a pulled pork stew.

You are so lucky with your beer and good Scottish food!

If it was like stew, then they didn't make them properly.
They're more like mashed potato with bits of meat and onion in!  I remember a lunch van when I worked in Edinburgh that served stovies, with a well dug in the middle of it, and Chinese curry sauce poured into the well!   That was lush!

I'm confused now, there was a tray of really good mash potatoes with something else like parsnip mixed in, I figured that was the neeps and tatties.  The  thing that had the ham was not mash.

I didn't realise it was a Scottish holiday of some sort.  Did you have the day off?

If you ever change your mind about becoming a citizen Jimbo, remember that, you'll need it for the life in the UK test!

You talk about getting citizenship like I rattle on about BitCoin.  Are you sure it's not some ponzi scheme that always needs new people?

The Home office must be giving you a signing bonus.

This weekend we made a traditional family dosh and I thought you guys might like the recipe.

WHITE TRASH ORANGES

Cut 6 oranges in half and scoop out everything from the shells.

Keep the flesh and juice in a separate bowl.

Skin about 1 kg of sweet potatoes and cut into good sized cubes roughly the same size.  Like one sweet potato into 3 chunks.  Boil these until they are soft.

Drain and add a big chunk of butter and a lot of dark brown sugar. Add some of the Oranges back in, but not too much juice.  Mix it well or whizz it in a food processor until it is a soft paste.

Spoon this mixture back into the orange shells and garnish with a pecan half.  Sprinkle more brown sugar on if it's not sweet enough.

Put them in the fridge to cool down for a few hours.  These can be a desert or a vegetable side.
