7 years in UK - Never filed for taxed
« on: November 28, 2017, 02:53:56 PM »
It’s been years since I’ve been on the site – 7 years since I moved to the UK, can’t believe it’s been that long.

We are thinking about moving back to the US in a couple of years. Husband is British and I am American.

I have not filed for taxes since being here. I didn’t know I had to until a few years back and then I decided is too late (I know, very stupid) so my question is how to go about filing taxes from years back? I have job, bank account and a mortgage here in the UK. Any advice would be much appreciated. Am I really screwed?

Thanks!

Most folks in your circumstances would use the IRS streamlined procedures to catch up.
