Just received a reply from VFS saying my Visa was indeed approved and I need to send them my passport ASAP so they can insert the vignette!!!

So, like... in effect, you had to tell them that you were approved and needed to send your passport in for the vignette, and then they agreed with you?  I'm definitely not seeing Gold service here.  *headshake*

But, still... congratulations on your approval!  All of this headache is almost behind you (for about 30 months).

Not a thing. I'm running around today getting my husband and two boys ready for their flight tomorrow. My younger son has been pretty ill all weekend, he's the one just off treatment so it's my actual nightmare that I'm putting him on a plane without me right now.

I am so incredibly frustrated with this. Thursday will mark 6 weeks since my documents were received by Sheffield, and I've got today down as 24 working days from the day after they were received.

Oh Dani, that is so hard. Do you have a mask for him to wear on the plane? Ive got a weak immune system and fragrance allergies so I never travel without one, even though it can be uncomfortable. I hope your approval comes in the next couple days!!

Yep, I packed masks for all of them! He has recurring pneumonia and ear infections, so we took him in to get checked out yesterday and he was cleared for those and the flu. Thankfully he is so so much better today and was all good to fly! It was still totally awful to leave them at the airport

Dani, every time I see your name as the last person in this thread, I click on it hoping for good news.  This situation is heartbreaking.  I hope your visa is granted soon so you can get reunited with your family.  :/

Aww, thanks for that. I actually sometimes hesitate to post for that very reason! I know I've got folks here hoping for us and I hate to disappoint. I even stopped texting my husband at work because he kept thinking I was telling him I had my email too. Yes, this is the level of ridiculousness of the situation now lol.

I have been reading your posts, Dani and my heart goes out to you! I do hope you get your visa soon now. This new service has proved to be a total disappointment! It must have been so hard for you to say goodbye to your family but I so hope the separation will be short lived and you will soon be on your way too.

The saga continues... I dropped off my passport at my local UPS store early Monday afternoon, using the "Next Day Air, Early" service that guarantees delivery by 8am the next day.

Just checked the tracking number two days later and it says my passport has gone from MD to KY. Moreover it has missed today's flight to DC and they've deleted the estimated delivery date all together. I should've just taken a day off and driven into DC.

I know I'll have to fly back and forth to pick up my BRP within 30 days - just a bit concerned about the timing. Is it safe to expect the 30 day window will begin on the date of decision, giving me until 4 Feb?

@Dani1983, I was really hoping we'd hear back at the same time. So sorry you haven't heard yet. I'd have gladly traded my spot in the queue if I'd known I was ahead and it was somehow possible to do it. You've just got to be one of the next ones to hear. At least you won't have to deal with returning your passport to them for the vignette

Honestly, it's impossible for us to predict what date the vignette will be valid from.  The great thing is you know you are approved.  Just a few more days and you should know your travel window.

How did your interview go?

Ugh, I think UPS has their hub in Kentucky, it seems like all of their stuff goes through there.  When my passport came back from Sheffield last year it got stuck there all weekend.  I felt like it had flown right over me just to torture me for 2 days.

LOL that explains the detour to Kentucky. If UPS had told me 'Next Day Air Early' actually means 'Next Week Early' I would've just driven to DC and had it done in person. Oh well.
