Seriously?! Of course it's wonderful news but very worrying for me.

It sucks, given you paid for Gold, but unfortunately this is normal for January processing times - applications submitted in December usually take longer than applications submitted in January, because everything slows down over Christmas (and more people apply in December, trying to get to the UK for the holidays) and then it speeds up again in January.

It is so bizarre that December applications don't get processed first. I get why it happens, but wish they'd sort their system. I suppose it's not a priority for them unfortunately. :-\\\\

Well. I finally sent an email telling them what I really think. I tried to keep it as calm as possible but I'm pretty clearly ticked.

It's made my hands shake a little, I don't like to tell people they are doing a bad job.

Sorry Dani! I'm going to submit that UKVI survey this weekend telling them what I think of VFS' gold premium BS. Assuming the link still works! I just hope someone will actually look at the feedback and terminate that contract. Must've been so much better when people could just apply directly at their consulates.

I've had a reply that begins with telling me that "consulate" is a broad term used within the industry. I need a drink to even read on further.

Make sure your husband brings the chain of emails and responses with him to see the MP. What a load of s#*t you've had to deal with. :( I hope you have your visa in hand and a refund of fees soon!

Which means "we have no idea what we're talking about, but we're going to bullshit enough that we hope you think we do"

Haha that's my takeaway from it! I actually didn't read on because I was genuinely so outraged by the first sentence. Forwarded it to hubby and asked if there was any reference to the actual points I made that warranted explanations from them and he said nope!  ::)

I just don’t understand how they can get away with charging more and delivering less.

I’m really looking forward to hearing what the MP has to say and particularly what UKVI tell him/her.

Hopefully we see a result really quickly after that.

So I emailed our MP last night and had a response within a few hours!  Here's a bit of what I got back:

Quote
I have contacted our MP helpline and been assured that there is nothing to worry about and they
will look into the progress of your application and respond to our office within 5 working days.

I also highlighted to them that your son is receiving ongoing medical treatment and that has all been
noted.

I didn't include the entire message but from the rest, it was really friendly and reassuring. I'm not sure though what it means that there is nothing to worry about but my application hasn't been looked at yet though. I'd love to hear what you all think about this, should I be hopeful that this will get the ball rolling?

Did you make it clear that you have paid for a premium service and people who didn’t and applied after you have already heard? He needs to understand that.

In your shoes, I would be cautiously optimistic ...
