B&M has boxes of strawberry pop tarts for £1.99 right now. I don’t like pop tarts and I wouldn’t buy them but at our Sainsbury’s they go for £4 or £5

crystal light pink lemonade mix!!

in college (in the usa) we used to make a punch out of a bottle of vodka, a few cans of bud light lime, half a bottle of sprite, and a bunch of pink lemonade powder. sounds vile, tastes delicious.

i might have to order the crystal light and make some alcohol punch...

Iced or not iced?  It's really hard to find strawberry Pop-Tarts without icing, but those were the ones I loved as a child.

I honestly cannot even imagine how vodka, bud light lime, and pink lemonade would mix haha it's something I'd try but I'm not sure I'd want to make a whole batch for fear that it'd not be something I would enjoy... I think vodka, pink lemonade, and sprite would be lush but it's hard to wrap my head around the bud light lime! lol

Just triggered me to think "what happened to toaster strudels?!" I never really ate them as a kid but you don't really see toaster strudels anymore (even in the US), do you?

Sorry....I'm way too exhausted to be using any internet forum to speak LOL

I had the cinnamon and brown sugar ones.  They came with a little packet of cream cheese icing that you could drizzle on.  I used to set the packet on top of the toaster as the strudel was toasting, so it'd be softened and easy to drizzle when my strudel was ready.  It was like eating a slightly flaky cinnamon "roll".  Of course, I much prefer a proper yeasty soft cinnamon roll, but the strudels were acceptable.  And they were more convenient than baking a pan of cinnamon rolls.

Edit to add:

So, if we're keeping up, yes to icing on my Toaster Strudels, no to icing on my Pop Tarts.  I just realized how inconsistent I am.

I just found out I have a week vacation I have to take in March.  (our vacation schedule runs April to March) I've only been with Boots for 4 months so I didn't think I would get a paid vacation already...

Anyway,  I'm going back to North Carolina to see my kids.

I've made a short list of must eat while I am home.

Thick fatty ribeye
Tacos
Biscuits and sausage gravy
General Tso chicken
Red Robin burger
And one of my son's amazing cheesecakes

The only thing I plan on bringing back with me is the Kool Aid liquid water additives.  And maybe some ranch packets depending on how many I have left by then.

It wasn't long after they first came out.  So, about a century ago (mid- to late-80s?... gawd, I'm old!)

According to Wikipedia, they currently have a cinnamon roll "Cinnabon" flavour which is probably similar.  In fact, it's probably the same thing, but with the brand tie-in to make it more marketable.

Are you suggesting you will have room in your bags to bring things back for others?  Things like a jar of Talk o' Texas hot pickled okra?  Or Mountain Dew (the real, off-the-shelf American kind!)?  :)

I mean, have a great trip!  Enjoy all the noms!

Let me see what I can do about the okra. I've never seen that brand but maybe I can get it on Amazon and bring it back?

Edit: looks like it is available locally. I'll see what I can do.
