Oops, that's Betty.  More like this:

My husband would never think that was me.  He complains that I don't clean.  He's not wrong.  :P

Oooo, I'm so intrigued by both homes.  But yours is YOURS!!

We also bought our house for the potential.  But I do have a working kitchen.   :D. But no pizza oven.

I say that all the time!  It's ours and that makes it infinitely better than any other house.  Plus, our must-haves are all satisfied.  So once Home Office stop fleecing us, and my husband can be home like a normal person, we can start bringing it up to its potential.

The pizza oven is a surprisingly affordable fix if it's something you desire in your life.  A working kitchen... that's a bit more money and effort.  But we'll get there.  Right after we re-render.

You never know.  With all the allergies and my husband being gluten-free, it could be something we invest in one day.  Just probably not today.

I haven't, but heard really good things about it.  It's at Waitrose and I rarely go there.  But I'm going into town tomorrow so maybe will have to make a special trip.

I don't really miss ice cream.... it's CHEEEEEEEEEEESE!  The dairy free stuff just doesn't cut it when you know what dairy stuff tastes like.  My 3 year old thinks dairy free cheese is AMAZING.  Yuck!
At some point you may want to see if your little man can tolerate goat or sheep milk, it's different proteins. I end up in a world of hurt from holstein dairy but I'm OK with Jersey, sheep and goat. All down to the different proteins in them.

That booja ice cream looks good, but grrr nut allergies. I became allergic over the last 6 years and it stinks. coconut is still fine but the coconut ice cream I've found so far over here is really sub par for the cost. I'll be stocking up on aroy D on amazon and making my own once we move!

And JFKimberly that pizza looks so good :)

My friend with tree nut and dairy allergies cries as well with the non-dairy ice creams too.  The coconut ones off the shelf aren't too good either, I agree.   Make your own is the way to go.  (Well for the moment anyways, as more and more things are becoming available everyday).

I think there is a cleaning gene and you either have it or you don’t! I don’t have it. I’m not good at cleaning and I don’t enjoy it. I do it because it has to be done but I feel like I’m going against nature!  ;D

My younger sister got it.  And my mother.  The rest of my family took after my dad's side. :)

I do not have the cleaning gene.  My cleaner cleaned around me today.

Huge pro for the UK, cleaners are very affordable!

This was something I was wondering about.  Southern California had very affordable cleaners, as you might imagine, and I learned to appreciate my host's twice-monthly cleaning service coming in to do all the stuff that I dread doing.  Once our house is in a state where it even makes sense to bother with it, I'd like to hire once- or twice-monthly service to do all the things that are difficult for my 4'10" self, but they need doing on a regular basis to keep the house maintained (e.g., cleaning the walls in the high-ceilinged bathroom!).

No need to feel guilt for hiring a cleaner.  We still clean plenty and do plenty of work in the house.

DO IT!!!  Like Jimbo says, you'll still clean plenty.  But it really helps to keep on top of things.

What I wouldn't do for an HVAC system though.

Yeah... the more I think about it, the more I think it's worth the money.  If all I had to do was the normal everyday dishes, laundry, tidying, and cleaning up after myself, while I left the real cleaning to someone more capable, both I and my house would be happier.  Because, as it is, the real cleaning doesn't get done.  ;)

I took the damp-eliminating properties of HVAC for granted my whole life.  I'd like it just to have more breathable air -- not to mention how much better it would be for keeping the house maintained.
