How did you present your fiancé visa package
« on: January 13, 2018, 06:47:22 PM »
hi, we just completed our visa application and supporting documents best we could ( thanks for checking on my checklist !) We have it all in a ring binder , separated in sections. But when we came to send at UPS they didn’t have a padded envelope large enough . The VFS email that comes with my priority shipping labels tells you to specifically request a quick pack priority envelope . As I said they didn’t have one big enough to fit our binder . We are worried that using a small cardboard box is wrong . Should we take everything out of the binder and just send in a pile of papers ? Or not worry about the type of packaging ?

Yes, take everything out of the binder - you should not send any binders, folders or dividers. Don't use a cardboard box - if you need to send it in a box, your package is too big.

Just put everything in sensible piles, if you like you can secure them with a rubber band or paperclip, and then put them together in a pile.

Take everything out of the folder and send just the papers!

They are going to do that when it gets there anyway so you are saving them a job.

Just put everything in a logical order in two piles, one originals and one copies of everything which you would like returned. Secure with a rubber band or string and you’re sorted!

A sensible order would be:
- priority receipt on top (if purchasing)
- printed application forms, IHS receipt and stamped biometrics sheet
- return shipping label
- Applicant's documents (passport, passport photo, old passports)
- Sponsor's documents (passport copy, letter of support)
- Financial documents
- Accommodation documents
- Relationship documents
- Photocopies of original documents

Thanks so much. We thought as much. Maybe we were trying too hard with the binder . We’ve pretty much got the order right we’ll just get a few rubber bands .
thanks again
