Here's a completely nutty one :

In summary, a woman on a giant zip line ride in the Andes  died and the owners hid her body and kept it a secret

All this talk of Reading has got me missing my favourite Reading restaurant of all time :

Just look at the menu!  I recommend oxtail or curried mutton

Come out to a Reading and I’ll treat.   :D

Cool!  I've been trying to get to Reading at lunch time for years.

I have this working theory that you are actually Bill Bryson (the French wife is to throw us off your trail) and posts like this really just solidify that idea in my mind.  ;)

Hunter Thompson. I was always suspicious of Depp firing his ashes off in a rocket. He's alive and well, slightly detoxed, in Hounslow.
I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Sweet Jesus, what is ‘Ground Food’?

Otherwise, am loving how susinctly descriptive this menu is. Looks delish.

Google tells me that ground food is " a number of traditional vegetables staples that are planted in the ground, such as yams , sweet potatoes, dasheen root, eddos and cassava. They are often cooked and served as a side dish in local cuisine."

The whole menu sounds good to me  :) :)

I looked again and noticed "fish tea" under soups.  Wonder what that is.
The only thing that's a bit bizarre about this place is that they tend to cook the meat on the bone and then hack it all up with a giant clever so you end up with bits of bone in your food.  You need to pick through the sharp bits. The oxtail is a little different in that you are served giant vertebrae and you suck the meat out of the crevices.

Also, almost always I was the only white person there.  Once, some rasta  guy started yelling about something and I couldn't understand what he was on about.  I could feel everyone was nervous and while it was unlikely he was ranting about the white guy in the corner, I wasn't exactly sure.  Nevertheless, I wasn't too nervous because the woman behind the counter with a clever liked me and since I was such a good customer wanted to keep me around.

I came, I saw, I kicked it's ass. We Yo Sushi-ed on Saturday. It was effing delicious! I'm not a sushi person (don't like seafood) and my husband doesn't LOVE sushi particularly, but there were so many good options that weren't fish there. Highly recommend the Chicken Karage. Absolutely scrumptious! Didn't advertise the offer you had shared here but it was a LOVELY surprise when we got the bill because I was expecting it be quite high and it wasn't too bad haha. While it is normally an expensive price point I think, it was definitely worth it. .....And pushing the button to order was really fun LOL.

Only bummer was that I REALLY wanted to try the Japanese Cheesecake and have for soo long but they had JUST taken it out of the fridge and said it wouldn't be ready for like another hour... Really though, I could eat like a million more gyozas (just in life in general. not specifically Yo Sushi's).

Hmm, I thought the special price was only Monday through Friday.  Whatever, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
We finally had our family outing on Friday and everyone enjoyed it. Then we picked up some ice cream and went home to watch Star trek.

It might only be monday-friday and they might have had another deal going on. They literally wiped half the plates from £4-ish down to £2.80 (think it was all the orange plates became blue platers).

I would kill for some more espresso ice cream mochi just now...

I like some things about Hunter Thompson but I have trouble being overly enthusiastic because he was undoubtedly such a jerk.  He was known as a sexual harrasser before it was trendy, but more importantly I think he blew his head off while kids were in the next room. That's really being a jerk.

I've always imagined my celebrity doppelganger is Rich Hall and he even grew up in Charlotte at the same time as me. I saw him at a Fetchin Bones concert in 1986.

In my heart of hearts, I am Hansel
