Anybody in Oxford Right Now?

Hi everybody,

My name is Jess and I'm an American going to be getting married soon (in Vegas in March) to my English guy! After that, I will be applying for the family visa as his spouse. I know what I'll have to be in the US when I apply and he's gotta be here in the UK for work so we're pretty bummed about having to be apart. But I'm here in Oxford with him now, visiting until we head over to Vegas. I'm hoping to get as much of the application and paperwork together now so that as soon as we get the marriage certificate we can file everything.

I'm pretty anxious about everything. I'm worried about the unknown time we have to spend apart and scenarios involving rejected applications. Ugh. Is anybody here in Oxford now that I can maybe have lunch with or grab a coffee and chat about the process?

I don't think we have any active members in Oxford.  Loads of Americans in that area though.  Most seem to be moving to the Bicester area (not really Oxford).

Not now, but I'm hoping to move to Bicester in June! My MIL is in Oxford. This is a very good group to get questions from. My husband moved from Bicester to PA in 2005, and now we're looking to move back. I can't believe we're doing the immigration thing all over! 

I've been in Oxford for 3+ years but haven't done the spousal visa process as I'm on a Tier 4 and will later be switching to FLR(M), so can't offer much advice there. Oxford is a lovely place though, if that's where you're planning on settling!
