I'm guessing you meant barista? And that is a crush worthy role... I mean, tasty coffee is life blood right?

My husband is my barista, so me too!  And the way he makes my coffee, he is a barista in both the Italian meaning as well as our usage.  All the booze!   :P

Haha that's amazing. When we're settled I'll have to rebuild the liquor cabinet ;) We'll be prepared for game night!

For ages, we talked about how "when we have a house" we would "one day build out a liquor cabinet"... We have the house, but not the cabinet.  But I got tired of waiting.  There's a wall niche in the lounge that I just started filling with various bottles, based on what we were wanting to drink* and then restocking when they run out.  One day we will have a proper liquor cabinet.  For now, we just have the liquor.

* e.g., Want margaritas with Mexican platter? No problem! <orders Cointreau and Cuervo>; Want eggnog**?  I'm on it!  <orders rum>

** We are still occasionally having eggnog, this far out from Christmas.  We can't help ourselves.  It's nom.

I kinda meant the proverbial cabinet as well. My previous one was the bottom shelf of my pantry ;) I like having what I want on hand even though I rarely drink!

Same.  Though since we've had it on hand, I do have a drink more than I ever used to.  But it's only at the weekend or holidays, when my husband is home, and I'll have maybe a coffee in the early part of the day, or a margarita or eggnog in the evening.  Rarely more than one drink in a weekend.  And many weekends I have nothing.

I just like knowing it's there.  It's like having a well-stocked pantry.  (Larder?  Whatever they say here.)  I just feel better knowing I have plenty of staples ready if I need them.

I never really drank at all until my kid hit 2 years old.  Wow.  Try to stop me now!   :P

Margo, we can take a trip to Costco when it's time to stock.  Their prices are hard to beat!

You have a preschooler and an infant.  I would never try to get in your way of booze!

My husband had no concept of a well stocked pantry. He'd only keep on hand what he was eating that week and nothing else. So I've been stocking a staple or two with every weekly order. Its nice not running out of rice or coffee every week! He has no liquor atm and I'm a tad worried about stocking it because his 'off' switch for alcohol in all occasions we've been drinking so far was the bottle being empty, including wine on a week night. So unless his relationship with limits changes I won't keep it around, but I'm hoping it does. I come from a family of alcoholics so that's made me uncomfortable to say the least!

Woo hoo! I love how the conversation moved from coffee to booze, seems appropriate for the title though!
