What to do before returning to work
« on: February 05, 2018, 04:13:46 PM »
I've got two weeks left before I return to work.  What should I do to savor these last few weeks?

Plans for next week when childless:
Spa day
Mommy/daughter day
Date day (husband taking a day off)
Makeup counter visit to update look

Plans for this week with child:
Visiting/lunches with a few friends
Just finished batch cooking
Just finished calling all my utility/service providers and getting better rates

What should else should I be doing?  What would you do?

I think it sounds like you have it in the bag! Maybe a tiny day trip to somewhere you both haven't been?  Enjoy!x

That would be so fun!

I really think we'll do Scotland again soon.  Our kid is obsessed with pandas so we'll likely go up to Edinburgh to the zoo.  My husband is warming to the idea but wants to do a proper Scotland visit and not just a dash in/out for the zoo.  I'm not complaining!

We went last summer when my parents were visiting and had a great time - except my mom broke her leg on Day 2!  Other than that...   ::)

Well come up when you get a chance. There is some great scenery and loads to see and do. A few stray Americans here bouts as well! I for one would love to take you and your family to dinner, a little thank you for all you do and have done.

Haha. What I'm currently doing. Spending time with the dogs and ill husband.

Watching loads of bad TV on Netflix and regular TV. And (the boring thing), studying.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Make sure you’re well rested. Don’t rush around the entire time, spend a whole day in bed if you need to!  :)

Yeah, if as I'm tired next week as I am today, all will be cancelled and I will be in bed all day with a cat!   ;D

Take your kid to Kew Gardens?  It's kind of cold but it could be a different day out.  They've got some play areas for kids that are indoors.

Bracknell coral reef isn't far by car and might be a good thing to do when the hordes of local kids are in school. They've just done a huge refurbishment and the website makes it look amazing.  Don't even think of going on a weekend, we were there on Sunday before 11 and could not even get in the car park.

Or the Look Out Centre across the road would be fun.

Coral reef would be fun but next week is half term so will avoid!

The Lookout is fun!

I think for our Mommy/daughter day we are going to take the bus to go ice skating, then to lunch, then home.  She really just wants to ride the bus in a big, high chair.   ;D  But we’ve been watching Dancing on Ice and she wants to try ice skating.

Sounds like a fun Mommy/Daughter day.

I'd probably spend two weeks in the garden, so I'm of no use.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!
Work permit (2007) to British Citizen (2014)
You're stuck with me!

I would love nothing more than to be pressur washingeverythibg outside while we have some sun these next couple of days.  But it's cold and the baby would be miserable.  If it's sunny next week while he's at nursery, I'll be pressure washing!
